NEVERQUEST -- BIOGRAPHY
Stage Name: NeverQuest
Real Name: Joseph Allgaier
Born: July 4th, 1980
Address: 151 Eber Rd. Apt. 304. Melbourne, Florida 32901.
Phone: 321-723-3949
Goal: To obtain a management and recording contract, and progress with
my current hip hop level of skill, while getting my music heard.
Personal Biography:
1997 -- Business Relationship with Tonedeff.
Met Tonedeff, current CEO of indie label Qn5 Music after battling at
a party. Tone took an interest in my style of hip hop,
and pressed me to take hip-hop more seriously. Produced numerous tracks
for me, along with giving me free studio time.
Relationship ended when Tone left for New York to scout for artists,
and build a name for his label.
1998 -- University of Central Florida Battles.
Began competing in the weekly emcee battles held at UCF. After two weeks
of battling, I earned the "Punchline" award, the
next week taking the whole show to become battle champion.
1999 -- Def Jam / DPS Crew.
Traveled to L.A. to start a group called DPS (Def Poet Society) with
Kazual, Cynic, and Lupah. Lupah did production on a
few tracks, as well as Ravenous MC. After recording a demo, Lupah shopped
it to a friend he knew at Def Jam, who passed
it along to the right people. The next day we left to visit Def Jam's
offices. After arriving, we met different people, and soon
were offered a recording contract. Things fell through after a small
fued began within the group over the stipulations of Def
Jam's proposal. I resigned from DPS, and headed back to Florida at the
end of 1999.
2000 -- Nicci Cheeks Management.
I began writing at a fast pace, and soon saved up money to get into
the studio. I recorded my demo, and contacted Nicci
Cheeks Management over the phone, shortly after sending them my bio
and demo. They liked what they heard, and showed
up at my first show in mid 2000. Nicci Cheeks offered me a management
deal, and I accepted, continuing to do shows.
2001 -- Fallout with Nicci Cheeks.
After almost a year, Nicci Cheeks management had failed to even give
me an inch of help. They claimed to have been
shopping my demo around, but I never saw results. In August of 2001,
Nicci Cheeks decided to take stay in London, and our
management contracted was ended mutually.
2002 -- "Who's Hot" Single released to local DJ's and radio.
I began writing my album, and recorded a single "Who's Hot"
in hopes it would hype up the local hip hop followers and get
some DJ play. After slippin it to a few DJ's it began getting play.
Those who played it in rotation included DJ Fanatic, and DJ
Slick Vic at both Club Dragon Lady, and Club Sanctuary in Melbourne,
Florida. I also began doing a massive amount of
shows, at Club Sanctuary, Club Firestone in Orlando, Club Crush in Merrit
Island, one during the UCF Hip Hop Weekend,
Club Dragon Lady, and The Hustler Club & Bar. In between shows,
95.1 FM "The Beat" got ahold of my single and played it
for their Local Talent contest, which the track won by a huge margin
of votes.
2002 -- Current Status.
Despite efforts, funds have been short and I've been unable to pay for
recent studio time. "Who's Hot" has began to die down
a little, as it's gotten way too much play. Radio rotation isn't an
option, as Clear Channel won't accept my track as long as
I'm unsigned. For the time being, I'm trying to save money for studio
time, which is a struggle as I'm expecting my first child
soon, and shop my single around to management and recording companies.
I've been working a lot lately with 2 Crazy, a hot
local MC, writing 4 tracks with him to go along with the 28 tracks I
have ready for my album.
